Alex Marino, 2018 Red, named Baltimore Sun Girl Athlete of the Week
Congratulations Alex Marino, TLC 2018 Red, named Baltimore Sun Girl Athlete of the Week.
The senior attacker had a hand in more than half of the No. 10 Mawrtians’ goals last week as they improved to 4-0, continuing their best start in six years.
Marino had three goals and three assists in Friday’s 11-6 win at archrival and then-No. 10 Roland Park. She scored or assisted on all but one of the Mawrtians’ seven first-half goals as they built a four-goal halftime lead.
Earlier in the week, Marino scored seven goals on eight shots in a 13-11 win over Mount de Sales.
She has 19 goals and five assists as the Mawrtians have the best record in the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference, although they are one of five teams still unbeaten in the conference
Until this fall, she also played field hockey for the Mawrtians. A veteran of the TLC club lacrosse program, Marino has signed to play for Syracuse.
